Unlike its neighbor Dollard des Ormeaux the communities of Pierrefonds and Roxboro did not vote to demerge from greater Montreal, but instead remained as the borough of Pierrefonds/Roxboro.
This generally peaceful district is situated along the back river area of Montreal. There are numerous condominium developments in region with the pricier ones having a view of the waterway and close to the nature preserve of Ile Roxboro.
